I've always loved the music video for Snow Patrol's Open Your Eyes because of the simplicity of the prolonged shot. The video is made up of one long shot, taken by a camera attached to the front of a car. Due to the fast paced driving and dynamic route through the foreign city the audience are presented with a wide range of urban scenes which complement the fast paced, uplifting song.
I am going to try and replicate this type of shot by holding a camera steady on the dashboard of a car and driving around Whitley Bay. I will do this night so the headlights of the cars will be blurred when we use the footage in the projections over the performance. Although it won't produce the exact same effect, I'm hoping that the bright illuminations will be eye catching when they're projected.
